چکیده

A 69 year old gentleman with a background history of previous coronary artery bypass graft underwent open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair for a 9 cm symptomatic juxta renal aortic aneurysm with a 20 mm dacron graft 14 years ago. He had pneumonia and pseudomembranous colitis post operatively but recovered completely and was discharged home. He returned within 2-3 weekswith abdominal and back pain. MR angiogram showed contained rupture of the double breasted aortic sac post open repair with disruption of the anastomosis mimicking a type Ia and 1b endoleak and haematoma was noted to the superior and inferior part of the graft (Figure 1). An aortouni-iliac device Talent graft (World Medical, FL,USA) was deployed with a Talent occluder to the left common iliac artery and a right to left femoro-femoral bypass graft was performed with 8 mm dacron graft.

[Endovascular repair of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm].

Endovascular repair of ruptured aortic aneurysm (REVAR) has been used worldwide in high volume centres since 1994. Observational studies indicate that this treatment modality is equally as good as or maybe even better than open surgery. Until recently, open surgery was the only treatment option in Denmark, but since 2012 REVAR has been introduced at Odense University Hospital and is now perform...

Association of an Endovascular-First Protocol for Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms With Survival and Discharge Disposition.

IMPORTANCE Mortality after an open surgical repair of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (rAAA) remains high. The role and clinical benefit of ruptured endovascular aneurysm repair (rEVAR) have yet to be fully elucidated. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of an endovascular-first protocol for patients with an rAAA on perioperative mortality and associated early clinical outcomes. DESIGN, S...

An Aortoenteric Fistula Arising after Endovascular Management of a Mycotic Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Complicated with a Psoas Abscess

Mycotic aortic aneurysms account for 1–3% of all aortic aneurysms. The management of this disease is controversial. Since open surgical repair is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, endovascular aneurysm repair is an alternative treatment method with promising early and midterm outcomes, although its long-term durability is unknown.Secondary aortoenteric fistulas may occur iatro...

Endovascular stent-graft repair of spontaneous aorto-caval fistula secondary to a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: An emergency management of hostile anatomy

OBJECTIVES Although endovascular aneurysm repair of aorto-caval fistula offers a safe and efficient approach compared to traditional open repair, endovascular techniques for the treatment of aorto-caval fistula with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms in emergency circumstance are not well established. This study aims to evaluate the effect of endovascular repair of aorto-caval fistula of a pat...

Endovascular Repair of the Ruptured Aneurysm

Despite advances in the management of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (RAAA), the mortality remains high. Approximately 6,000 men per year die from RAAA in England and Wales, accounting for 2% of deaths(1). In 2009 the UK National Vascular Database reported approximately 17% of aneurysms treated were ruptured, with an open mortality of 38%(2). The significant operative mortality for open re...
